Jay Gallinatti, former executive vice president of Overture, now Yahoo! Search Marketing
Since leaving Overture, now Yahoo! Search Marketing, in 2002, Jay Gallinatti has been providing consulting and advisory services to small and growing Internet businesses. He joined the Zango Board of Director in November 2004. From June 2003 through June 2005 Jay served on the Board of Directors of Local Matters, Inc. and was named Chairman in December 2003. Local Matters is a technology company developing search solutions that cultivate connections between merchants and consumers. He joined Overture (previously GoTo.com) as one of the founding members of the executive management team in March of 1998 as vice president of sales and customer service. GoTo.com pioneered the concept of “paid search & sponsored listings.” In less than four years, the sales and service organizations within GoTo grew from a dozen employees to a team of 250, while the company grew to more than 600 employees generating over $600 million in revenue and $100 million in net profit, and executed an initial public offering. Overture was acquired by Yahoo! in 2003 for $1.6 billion. Prior to joining GoTo, Jay served as vice president, sales and marketing at Austin ‐ James, Inc., a consumer software company. He spent nine years at Lotus Development Corporation in a variety of roles, including West Coast regional director of sales, and director of marketing for cc:Mail. Jay received his B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University in 1978.
Scott Kauffman, president and chief operating officer of BlueLithium, a Yahoo! company
Scott Kauffman is president and chief operating officer (COO) of BlueLithium, a leading data driven performance marketing company. He joined the Zango Board of Directors in September 2005. Scott has deep experience in traditional and online publishing along with advertising, digital media and Web technology. His background includes leadership positions at CompuServe and Time Warner, where Scott served on the founding team of Entertainment Weekly magazine and as vice president of business development for Time Warner Interactive. At CompuServe, he was responsible for all consumer businesses and was a member of the road show team for the company's 1996 initial public offering. Prior to Time Warner, Scott was also a publisher and general manager at Newsweek. He was recruited to Silicon Valley in 1997 by Kleiner Perkins to become president and CEO of AdKnowledge. After selling AdKnowledge to CMGI in 1999, Scott ran eCoverage (direct-to-consumer insurance), Coremetrics (leader in web analytics), MusicNow (online music service) and Zinio (pioneer in digital publishing). Scott was honored by Advertising Age in 1996 as one of twenty Digital Media Masters. In July of 1992, Advertising Age named him one of the top 100 marketers in the country. He received an A.B. in English from Vassar College and an MBA in marketing from New York University.
Andy Sack, chief executive officer of Judy’s Book
Andy Sack is chief executive officer of Judy's Book, an online community where smart shoppers find and share the best local deals, sales and coupons. He joined the Zango Board of Directors in 2006 and has served as an advisor since early 2003. Most recently, Andy was executive chairman of Kefta, entrepreneur in residence (EIR) for Mobius Venture Capital (formerly SOFTBANK) and a regular lecturer at the University of Washington Business School. During his tenure as an EIR, Andy has been founder and board member to three companies: Bodyshop Digital, Kefta and Quova. Prior to this, Andy founded and sold two successful Internet companies: Abuzz Technologies and Firefly Network. Andy was CEO at Abuzz from 1996 to 1999 when he sold the company to the New York Times Digital unit. During Andy's tenure at the company, Abuzz was named number one in the Internet software category by Red Herring Magazine and number one company to work for by Boson Magazine. Prior to Abuzz, he was a co ‐ founder of Firefly Network, which was later sold to Microsoft Corporation. Andy has advised a number of companies including Cambridge Incubator, LeaseForum and Green Order and was a co-founder and board member of Students for Responsible Business. He received a B.A. from Brown University and an MBA from MIT.
